I must admit that I am madly in love with Lotta Jansdotter's new collection of fabrics, "Glimma".
The colors are rich, and understated. The patterns are graphic, and simple.
I whipped up the "Glimma" quilt top in only one weekend. I spent a few hours cutting, and then a few hours piecing. The time flew by. There are 2 color ways for this pattern, one called "orange pekoe" and the other called "chamomile". Both are absolutely stunning.
I tend to always lean towards pink, so of course, the color way I chose was "chamomile". As I said in my friendlythreads blog post about this, this quilt top will be taught as a class, and the kits are available here at the store. The kits, which include all the fabric requirements to make the 75"x87" quilt top, plus the binding, are here at Daley's for $99.00/each. The class is coming up in September, it's scheduled for 2 sessions, Saturday September 7th and 14th from 10:00-2:00pm. In the class, we'll learn how to cut out all the needed pieces with a rotary cutter, and then we'll start piecing the top. The class is designed so that you will not need to do any homework, I know you all have enough going on! Between both sessions, your entire quilt top should be done.
Stop by the shop to check out the sample we have hanging up!
We still have seats available in this class, you can even enroll online!
